Zoran Utkovski is a Principal Researcher at the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute (HHI) in Berlin, Germany, where he heads the Connected Intelligence and Robotics Group within the Department of Wireless Communications and Networks.
His academic background includes:
- Dipl.-Ing. in Electrical Engineering (2000) from Sts. Cyril and Methodius University, Skopje, Macedonia
- M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (with distinction, 2004) from Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden
- Dr.-Ing. (summa cum laude, 2010) from Ulm University, Germany
Dr. Utkovski's research spans communication theory, machine learning, robotics, and complex systems theory, with a focus on next-generation wireless networks and intelligent systems. His work integrates theoretical foundations with practical implementations in networked robotics and AI-driven communication protocols, particularly relevant to 6G development.
He serves as research coordinator for working groups within the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF)-funded 6G Research and Innovation Cluster (6G-RIC), coordinated by Fraunhofer HHI.
His notable recognition includes:
- Fulbright Fellowship
Dr. Utkovski has expanded his research through international collaborations as a visiting scholar at New Jersey Institute of Technology and University Carlos III in Madrid. His leadership in the Connected Intelligence and Robotics Group drives innovation at the intersection of AI, communications, and robotics.
