Prof. Dr. Zoran Nacev is a Full Professor at the Institute for Security, Defence and Peace within the Faculty of Philosophy at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje. He has held academic positions including Assistant Professor (1994-1999), Associate Professor (1999-2004), and Full Professor since 2004. His expertise spans national security strategy, defense management, and globalization's impact on security. He has advised on Macedonia's Defense Law, Defense Strategy, and NATO integration efforts.
Education: Graduated from the Institute of Defense at Faculty of Philosophy (Skopje), completed postgraduate studies in Belgrade, earned M.Sc. (1990) and Ph.D. (1994) from Faculty of Philosophy. Active in teaching courses such as National Security Strategy, Defense Policy, and Globalization Processes.
Research focuses on NATO strategies, defense system management, and peacebuilding. Authored/co-authored 11 books including 'Strategic Concepts of NATO and Macedonia' (2016) and 'Globalization, Peace and Security' (2014). Served as principal investigator on defense-related research projects and led undergraduate/postgraduate studies programs.
Contributions include restructuring Macedonia's defense system to NATO standards and participating in international conferences/seminars on security issues. His work bridges theoretical strategy with practical defense policy implementation.
