Her research centers on the pathophysiology of neurodegenerative diseases and the development of novel therapeutics. Key areas include protein degradation pathways, translational drug development, and clinical trial design for neurological and infectious diseases. Recent work explores the role of deubiquitinases in α-synuclein clearance and mTOR inhibitors in ischemia.
Publications span neuroscience, pharmacology, and public health, with a focus on mechanisms of neurodegeneration, drug efficacy, and epidemiological impacts of vaccination programs. She contributes to undergraduate and graduate medicine programs and supervises biomedical students.
