Zofia Burr is a Professor of English and the founding Dean of George Mason University's Honors College, where she teaches Multi-disciplinary Research Methods. She has been affiliated with GMU's English department since 1992. Burr holds a Ph.D. (1993) and MFA (1987) from Cornell University, alongside an MA (1990) and a BA (1982) in English.
Her research focuses on African American literature, modern American poetry, and strategies of poetic address in works by figures like Dickinson, Brooks, and Lorde. She authored *Of Women, Poetry, and Power* (2002) and edited *Set in Motion: Essays, Interviews, Dialogues by A.R. Ammons* (1996). Her work explores intersections of gender, power, and literary form.
