Zilan Yang is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at IE University, Spain. She holds a Ph.D. in Accounting from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (2024), an M.A. in Economics from Duke University (2019), and a B.S. in Economics from Nanjing University (2017). Her research focuses on the intersection of Accounting and Economics, addressing topics such as auditing, corporate innovation, ESG, and the influence of ancestral narratives on corporate decisions. She teaches Financial Accounting and has served as a teaching assistant in Managerial Accounting during her graduate studies.

She actively integrates datasets from Sociology and Economics to explore interdisciplinary questions in corporate decision-making. Currently, she is advancing studies on how ancestral narratives shape corporate strategies and governance.
