Zhuoyao (Peter) Li, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor at St. John's University's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, specializing in Philosophy. He holds a Ph.D. from Boston College and contributes extensively to political philosophy, ethics, and comparative political theory.
His research explores the political nature of the state and the relationship between state actions and citizen values across Western and Eastern contexts. Recent publications examine Confucianism's intersection with political liberalism, reasonable pluralism, and democratic theory.
Dr. Li serves as Managing Editor of Philosophy & Social Criticism and has a forthcoming book Political Liberalism and Democracy in East Asia under contract with Springer. His work appears in Philosophy East & West and Etchics & Global Politics.
