Zhuoru Wu is an Assistant Professor of Instruction in Biological Sciences at the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) since 2019. They hold adjunct faculty status at Texas Woman's University since 2018 and previously served as Assistant Professor of Research at Tulane University (2014–2017) and Instructor at UT Southwestern Medical Center (2000–2013). Their research focuses on stem cell biology, particularly in spermatogonial stem cells and tissue regeneration mechanisms.
Dr. Wu earned a PhD in Biology from the University of Texas at Austin in 2001. Their work explores stochastic models of stem cell self-renewal, Foxo1 transcription factor roles in spermatogenesis, and development of culture media for stem cell maintenance. Key contributions include studies on rat and mouse spermatogonial stem cells, published in journals like *Journal Article* and book chapters in *Handbook of Stem Cells*.
Publications highlight expertise in molecular biology techniques, cell lineage analysis, and regenerative processes. No scientific awards are listed, but active research includes collaborations on stem cell differentiation and niche-independent self-renewal mechanisms. Current appointments emphasize instructional roles alongside research activities.
