Dr. Zhuang Jason Zhang is an Associate Professor and Head of Teaching in Banking and Finance at the Southampton Business School (SBS), University of Southampton. He also serves as the Postgraduate Senior Tutor. His research focuses on Corporate Finance, International Finance, Fintech, and Cryptocurrency, with additional interests in Corporate Governance, Social Capital, and Sustainability. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Finance from Jinan University, an MSc in Accounting and Finance (Distinction) from Durham University, and a PhD in Finance from Durham University.
Dr. Zhang has published extensively in journals such as Economics Letters, Journal of Corporate Finance, and British Accounting Review. His work addresses topics like AI-driven operational efficiency, cryptocurrency predictability, and the impact of managerial ownership on corporate decisions. He serves as a referee for the Research Bureau of the People’s Bank of China and top-tier academic journals.
His teaching expertise includes curriculum design at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, leveraging his Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA). Current research explores themes such as bank mergers’ tax implications, environmental management, and Fintech-driven financial innovation.
