Zhoujian Zhang is an Assistant Professor at the University of Rochester, specializing in the atmospheric characterization of exoplanets, brown dwarfs, and low-mass stars. Prior to this role, he served as a NASA Sagan Fellow at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Texas at Austin.
- Education: Ph.D. and M.S. in Astronomy from the University of Hawaii (2021), B.S. in Astronomy from Nanjing University (2015).
His research focuses on leveraging observational data and atmospheric modeling to understand formation and evolution processes of celestial objects, with an emphasis on wide-orbit exoplanets and stellar associations. He leads programs using space- and ground-based telescopes, including the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), Keck, Gemini, and UKIRT.
- Key Techniques: Forward modeling, atmospheric retrievals.
- Awards: NASA Sagan Fellow.
