Zhiyong (Tom) Xu is a Research Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Binghamton University. His research focuses on interdisciplinary areas of materials chemistry, electrochemistry, energy storage, and nanotechnology, emphasizing the design and application of energy storage materials for transitioning to renewable energy sources. He holds a BS from Hunan University and a PhD from Michigan Technological University.
Key research interests include energy storage systems, nanomaterial synthesis, battery materials, and renewable energy management. His work bridges material design, synthesis, and characterization to address challenges in sustainable energy solutions.
