Zhiyao Tang

Zhiyao Tang is a Researcher at the University of Peking under the School of Urban and Environmental Sciences. He focuses on ecological dynamics in subtropical forests, particularly examining biodiversity-ecosystem functioning (BEF) relationships, trophic interactions, and resource use efficiency in diverse tree communities.

Research Interests:

• Seasonal growth patterns under varying tree diversity levels (projects sp02c and P3C)
• Multi-trophic plant-insect interactions and ant mutualisms
• Carbon storage and productivity in subtropical forests
• Role of tree-tree interactions in local neighborhoods (TreeDì project)

Projects: He leads as Principle Investigator in DFG-funded initiatives like TreeDì International Research Training Group and Seasonal complementarity of wood growth (P3C), analyzing dendrometer data and water use efficiency in diverse forests.
