Zhixi Wang is a Research Associate at the Chair of Ancient and Contemporary Philosophy within the Institute of Philosophy at Humboldt University of Berlin. Based at Friedrichstr. 191-193, room 4079, he holds office hours on Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. and maintains a postal address at Unter den Linden 6, 10099 Berlin.
His research centers on Plato's cosmology, metaphysics, and psychology through critical engagement with early Greek philosophy, ancient medicine, and Aristotelian thought. Key interests include analyzing forms of materialism and anti-materialist reactions in classical philosophy, with emerging work on free will concepts across Platonic, Aristotelian, and Stoic frameworks. His doctoral dissertation "Uncrafted Nature in Plato's Creationism" examines the precosmos in Timaeus, investigating elemental nature (fire, water, earth, air) and its relationship to Forms within creationism debates.
