Zhihao Yu is a Full Professor in the Department of Economics at Carleton University, affiliated with the Faculty of Public and Global Affairs. He holds degrees from Shanghai Jiao Tong University (B.Sc., M.Sc.), the University of New Brunswick (M.A.), and the University of British Columbia (Ph.D.). His research focuses on international trade with special emphasis on outsourcing, intra-industry trade, the political economy of government policy, trade and environmental policies, and China's economic dynamics.
Key research contributions include analyzing trade-induced unemployment effects in high- and low-wage economies, globalization's impact on firm behavior, and the political dimensions of environmental protection policies. His work has been published in prestigious journals such as the Review of International Economics and the Canadian Journal of Economics.
