Dr. Zhigang Gui is a Research Assistant Professor at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), where he has been since August 2018. He previously held a postdoctoral position at the University of Delaware, USA, from August 2015 to July 2018.
- Educational Background: PhD in Materials Science from the University of Arkansas (2009-2015), BSc in Physics from the University of Science and Technology of China (2005-2009).
Gui’s research focuses on the electronic, magnetic, and optical properties of emerging energy materials and complex oxides using first-principles computational methods. He specializes in ab-initio simulations to design and understand novel functional materials for energy applications.
Gui has published several key studies on ferroelectric nanocomposites, thin films, and skyrmionic states. His work includes investigations into terahertz dynamics and epitaxial film properties, contributing to advancements in computational materials science.
