Zhi Liu

Zhi Liu is a Professor at the UNC School of Medicine, with dual appointments in the Department of Dermatology and the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at UNC-Chapel Hill. Holding a PhD, Dr. Liu's research focuses on the structural and functional roles of cell-cell matrix proteins in the skin, mechanisms of skin autoimmunity, inflammation, and immune responses in blistering diseases.

Dr. Liu's work investigates the molecular basis of skin integrity, autoimmune skin disorders, and innate immune pathways in pathological conditions. This research has implications for understanding dermatological diseases and developing targeted therapies.
