Zheng Zhu is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Humanities within the School of Arts & Sciences at City University of New York (CUNY). He holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Communication from Washington State University, alongside a B.A. in Chinese Language and Literature from Beijing International Studies University.

Dr. Zhu's research focuses on media representation of race, gender, and global politics, with a particular emphasis on how ethnic, national, and gendered 'others' are constructed across films, newspapers, and digital media. His work explores transnational identity, Orientalism, and critical discourse analysis in multicultural contexts.
His recent publications highlight trends in analyzing media narratives around China's global image, immigrant representation in Western media, and evolving stereotypes in cinema. These works intersect with subfields like cross-cultural communication, postcolonial theory, and digital communities.
