Zhe Zhang is an Assistant Professor at Purdue University's Edwardson School of Industrial Engineering. His research focuses on stochastic optimization, distributed optimization, and machine learning with applications in operations research. He holds a PhD in Operations Research from Georgia Institute of Technology (2017-2023), a BS in Mathematics and Statistics from Rice University (2013-2017), and was a Postdoctoral Fellow at MIT's Laboratory for Information & Decision Systems (2023-2024).
Zhang's research interests center on developing efficient algorithms for complex optimization problems, including function-constrained optimization, data-driven optimization, risk-averse optimization, and reinforcement learning. His work bridges theoretical complexity analysis with practical applications in machine learning and decision-making.
His recent publications demonstrate a strong focus on analytical chemistry techniques, proteomics, and metabolomics applied to biomedical challenges.
