معرفی
Zhao Zhang is a PartTime Lecturer at The University of Western Australia's School of Biological Sciences. He holds a Multi-Discipline Doctor of Philosophy degree and can be contacted at zhao.zhang@uwa.edu.au. His research focuses on plant-microbe interactions and nutrient acquisition strategies in phosphorus-poor soils, particularly in southwest Australian ecosystems.
Education:
- Multi-Discipline Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
Zhao's work examines how plant species like Bossiaea linophylla and Banksia attenuata compete in phosphorus-impoverished environments. His studies highlight adaptive mechanisms such as cluster-root formation and mycorrhizal symbiosis, contributing to understanding nutrient cycling and ecological resilience in harsh soils. Projects like the Holsworth Wildlife Research Endowment grant (2025-2026) and its predecessor (2024-2025) underscore his commitment to advancing plant-soil interaction research.
Collaboration is central to his research, with key supervisors including Dr. Chen, Dr. Migliorini, Prof. Lambers, and Dr. Ranathunge. His datasets explore nutrient dynamics across diverse plant families, offering insights into conservation and sustainable agriculture practices for nutrient-deficient habitats.
