Dr. Zhangming Wu is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Engineering at Cardiff University. His research focuses on Mechanics, Modelling, and Optimization, with applications in Mechanical, Renewable Energy, Biomedical Engineering, Sustainable Transport, and Civil Engineering. He leads several research projects funded by organizations such as the Royal Society, EU MSCA-COFUND, and EPSRC. Dr. Wu's work includes developing novel intelligent distributive sensing systems and advanced meshless methods for composite structures. He has received awards including the Best Paper of ASC and the Harry Hilton Structures Paper Award. His research interests span structural optimization, bio-inspired designs, and smart sensing technologies. He supervises PhD students in areas like multiscale lattice structures and topology optimization.
Education: PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Aston University (2010), MEng and BEng from University of Science and Technology Beijing (2006 and 2003).
