Zhang Liwei

Professor Liwei Zhang is a Director of the Neurosurgery Department and Vice President at Beijing Tiantan Hospital. He serves as Doctoral Supervisor at Beijing Capital Medical University and Tsinghua University, Associate Director of China’s National Centre for Clinical Medicine of Neurological Diseases, and Chairman of the Chinese Congress of Neurological Surgeons. His roles span clinical leadership, research coordination, and academic editorial work, including Associate Editor of the Chinese Journal of Neurosurgery.

Liwei Zhang specializes in neurosurgical research, particularly brainstem and skull-base tumors. His contributions include establishing the National Brain Tumor Registry of China (NBTRC), which houses over 110,000 patient records, and pioneering multidisciplinary frameworks for brain tumor treatment.
