Zeeshan Ahmed

Zeeshan Ahmed is an Adjunct Teaching Professor in Electrical Engineering at Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) and a Transmission Planning Engineer at the Independent System Operator New England (ISO-NE). He holds a B.S. from the University of Engineering and Technology Lahore, an M.S. from Aalto University, and a Ph.D. from Mississippi State University, all in Electrical Engineering fields.

His research focuses on power system planning, high voltage engineering, and the integration of clean energy into transmission systems. Key contributions include developing autonomous condition monitoring systems using probabilistic modeling, high-voltage equipment testing per international standards (ANSI/NEMA, IEEE, IEC), and participation in ISO-NE’s clean energy transmission system initiatives.

Zeeshan is recognized for his 2018 best conference paper award at the Electrical Insulation Conference (EIC). He actively contributes to professional organizations like IEEE and the NERC System Planning Impacts from DER Working Group.
