Zdenko Ilić is a Senior Lecturer at the Catholic Faculty of Theology in Đakovo, Josip Jurja Strossmayer University of Osijek. He was ordained as a priest in 1998 and holds a Ph.D. in Canon Law (2011) from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, specializing in judicial ecclesiastical practice. His academic career began in 2009, and he has taught Latin, Marriage Law, Sacramentology, and Church Law since 2013.

Professional activities include serving as a defense attorney at the Interdiocesan Court of First Instance in Đakovo and active membership in the Croatian Canonical Society. He has participated in academic events and projects related to theology and canon law.
