Zara Martirosova Torlone is a Professor in the Department of Classics at Miami University, where she also serves as Core Faculty at the Havighurst Center for Russian and Post-Soviet Studies. She holds a B.A. in Classical Philology from Moscow University and a Ph.D. in Classics from Columbia University.
Her research explores classical reception in Russian literature, Latin poetry (particularly Vergil and Roman elegy), translation theory, and textual criticism. Key themes include:
