Zainab Iftikhar

Zainab Iftikhar serves as an Associate Professor (tenure-track) in the Department of Economics at the University of Bonn, with active affiliations at the Center for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), Collaborative Research Center Transregio 224 (CRC TR 224 EPoS), ECONtribute, and Frankfurt Quantitative Macro Group (FQMG).

She earned a double PhD in Economics from Université catholique de Louvain and Universität Bielefeld in April 2018. Her research examines economic dynamics through the lenses of migration flows, family decision-making structures, and developmental trajectories in emerging economies.

Her work primarily investigates International Migration patterns, Quantitative Macroeconomics frameworks, Development and Growth mechanisms, Labor Economics policies, and Family Economics interactions. This interdisciplinary approach connects demographic shifts with macroeconomic outcomes and household-level behavioral responses.

Professional engagements include the Institute for Macroeconomics and Econometrics at Bonn, where she contributes to the ECONtribute cluster of excellence and the CRC TR 224 research consortium focused on political economy and taxation systems.
