Zachary Shirkey is a Professor and Department Chair in the Department of Political Science at Hunter College’s School of Arts and Sciences. His work spans international relations, security studies, and historical analysis of U.S. foreign policy.
Education
- Ph.D. in Political Science from Columbia University (2006)
- B.A. from the University of Michigan (1999)
Research Focus
Shirkey’s research explores the intersection of international security and U.S. foreign policy, with attention to the duration of conflicts and historical trends in global relations. He teaches courses on American Foreign Policy, International Law, Causes of War, and research methodologies in political science.
