معرفی
Zachary Sharp is a faculty member at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Utah State University, specializing in computational fluid dynamics and hydraulic modeling. He holds a Professional Engineering License in Utah and has been actively involved in physical and numerical hydraulic studies.
- PhD in Civil Engineering (Fluid Mechanics and Hydraulics), Utah State University, 2016
- MS in Civil Engineering (Fluid Mechanics and Hydraulics), Utah State University, 2009
- BS in Civil Engineering (Fluid Mechanics and Hydraulics), Utah State University, 2008
Dr. Sharp focuses on numerical modeling of open channel and closed conduit flows, with particular expertise in computational fluid dynamics applications for flow measurement and meter design. His work examines energy losses in hydraulic systems and the impact of non-ideal piping configurations on flow meters, valves, and fittings.
He teaches advanced graduate courses such as Hydraulics of Closed Conduits (CEE 5550/6550) and has mentored multiple graduate students in their research and thesis work. In 2023, he received a CEE Faculty Service Excellence Nomination for his contributions to the department.
