Zachary Bragg is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Georgia affiliated with the Villari Forest Pathology Lab. His research focuses on forest biology, genetics, biotechnology, molecular biology, and plant health protection. He holds a Ph.D. in Entomology from the University of Kentucky (2024) and a B.S. in Environmental & Field Biology from Ohio Northern University (2019).
His work emphasizes RNA interference (RNAi) applications in trees, such as developing pest-specific gene silencing strategies for loblolly pine and white oak. Recent studies include dsRNA delivery mechanisms and transcriptome analysis in response to insect-specific RNA treatments.
He collaborates with The Southern Pine Health Research Cooperative and contributes to advancing molecular tools for forest health management. No formal advisees are listed, and no scientific awards are noted.
