Zachary Biles is the John W. Wetzel, Esq. Professor of Classics at Franklin and Marshall College. He teaches Ancient Greek, Latin, and English courses on Classical Mythology and social aspects of ancient literature.

His research focuses on Athenian Comedy (especially Aristophanes), Greek poetry, theater history, and performance iconography. He explores how competitive dynamics in Dionysian festivals shaped comedic genres and has contributed commentaries on Aristophanes' Wasps (Oxford 2015) and Knights (Cambridge forthcoming).
His recent publications span topics like Homeric allusions in Roman poetry, epinikion representations in Athens, and textual analysis of Greek comic fragments. These works intersect with keywords such as Greek Comedy, Literary Technique, and Ancient Theater.
