Zach Howard

Zach Howard is an Adjunct Research Fellow at the University of Western Australia's School of Psychological Science, where he contributes to the Human Factors and Applied Cognition lab. Previously, he held positions at the University of Newcastle and Hunter New England Health. His research focuses on cognitive workload management, decision-making under time pressure, and modeling human behavior through response times and neurological measures.

Howard holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Cognitive Psychology (University of Newcastle, 2020) and a Bachelor of Science (Honours Class I) in Psychology (University of Newcastle, 2014). His work has direct applications in defense, law enforcement, and human-machine interfacing, addressing critical decision-making in high-stress environments.

Key research interests include cognitive architecture, situation awareness in control rooms, and the implications of workload on performance.
