Zach Gerhart Hines

Zach Gerhart Hines is an Associate Professor at the NNF Center for Basic Metabolic Research in the Department of Nutrient and Metabolite Sensing at the University of Copenhagen. He investigates the molecular mechanisms linking nutrient sensing, metabolic regulation, and thermogenic fat activity.

• Education: PhD from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine under Pere Puigserver, Postdoc at University of Pennsylvania with Mitchell Lazar

Research Focus: His work explores how the molecular clock controls thermogenic adipose tissue and the metabolic interplay between skeletal muscle and brown adipocytes.
