Zac Humes is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Utah State University (USU). He holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University (2019) and has taught courses such as Mechatronics, Mechanical Vibration, and Optimization for Engineers.
- Research Interests: robust control, learning-based control, linear parameter varying (LPV) systems, autonomous vehicles, and aerospace systems (UAVs/eVTOL).
- Education: PhD (2019), MPH (2015), BS (2013) in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and Beihang University respectively.
- Recent Publications: 8 peer-reviewed articles (2023–2025) on LPV control, vibration suppression, lateral vehicle dynamics, and reinforcement learning applications in aerospace systems.
- Graduate Student Mentoring: Mentored Larry Catalasan, Dan Crowley, Samantha Burton, and Clayton Spencer in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering.
