ZAHROUNI Hamid serves as a University Professor and Laboratory Director at LEM3 (UMR CNRS 7239) within the University of Lorraine. He is formally attached to the Department of Materials, Mechanics, Structures, and Vibrations (D1 - MMSV) under the Faculty of Science and Technology, with teaching responsibilities in UFR MIM (Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics, and Mechanics).
His research spans Materials Science, Solid Mechanics, Structural Engineering, and Vibrations, focusing on fundamental and applied mechanics of materials. As director of LEM3, he oversees a laboratory structured into three specialized departments: D1 (MMSV) for materials/mechanics research, D2 (IMPACT) for impact mechanics and advanced composites, and D3 (T-PRIOM) for thermal processes and innovative materials.
LEM3 operates advanced research platforms including MécaRhéo for mechanical characterization, MicroMat for microstructural analysis, Procédés for manufacturing processes, and Calcul intensif for high-performance computing. The laboratory executes national and international research projects with infrastructure co-financed by the European Union, serving as a key hub for mechanics and materials innovation under Hamid's leadership.
