Dr. Yvonne Stikkelbroek is an Assistant Professor at Utrecht University's Clinical Child and Family Studies department within the Social and Behavioural Sciences. Her work bridges academic research and clinical practice, focusing on adolescent depression and psychosocial problems. She contributes to the Dynamics of Youth (DoY) research theme through studies on intervention effectiveness and implementation science.

Her research examines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for adolescent depression, including mediators/moderators like negative automatic thoughts and non-specific treatment variables. She works with national mental health institutions to improve interventions for internalizing problems and contributed to Dutch national guidelines on youth affective disorders.
Currently, she combines clinical work at GGZ Oost Brabant with teaching at Utrecht University and post-master education at RINO Groep. Her scientist-practitioner approach emphasizes disseminating research findings to mental health professionals through popular journals and books.
