Yvon Wang is an Associate Professor at the Department of History, University of Toronto (St. George Campus), specializing in East Asian history with a focus on gender, sexuality, and everyday life. He coordinates the Chinese History Grad Group and directs the Faculty & Postdoc Writing Workshop. His research spans imperial to modern China, including material culture, suicide studies, and Cold War socio-political dynamics.

Current projects include SSHRC-funded studies on suicide in Chinese history and global responses to the Sinosphere during the Great Leap Forward. His publications examine topics like pornography in modern China, masculinities in early People's Republic media, and legal constructions of sexuality in Beijing.
