Yvette Thomas

Yvette Thomas is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Psychology & Counseling at Hope International University. She holds a Doctorate, M.A., and B.A. in related fields, with clinical certifications in Marriage and Family Therapy, EMDR, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and Prepare/Enrich Couples Counseling.

• Education: Doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy (HIU), M.A. in Ministry (HIU), M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy (HIU), B.A. in Communication Studies (CSUS).

Her research focuses on trauma, faith integration in psychology, African American health disparities, and correctional mental health. Her recent dissertation explores resilience through religious coping in community violence contexts.
