Yvette Sterbenk serves as Associate Professor of Strategic Communication at Ithaca College's Roy H. Park School of Communications, bringing over 20 years of professional expertise in event planning, promotions, marketing communications, media relations, and digital media management for non-profits and consumer brands since joining the institution in 2015.
Her academic credentials include a Master of Arts (2000) in Integrated Marketing Communication from Emerson College (Lambda Pi Eta honor society) and a Bachelor of Arts (1992) in Anthropology with French minor from Adelphi University, graduating with Honors in Liberal Arts.
Professor Sterbenk's research program critically examines corporate communication through three interconnected lenses: corporate activism addressing racial inequity and LGBTQ rights, innovative event planning pedagogy, and the ethical implications of femvertising in gender equality discourse. Her work consistently analyzes how organizations navigate social justice issues through strategic messaging while developing novel teaching methodologies for communication education.
