Yvette Regalado, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Interdisciplinary Learning and Teaching department at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). A practitioner-scholar-activist of Indigenous Latina heritage, she specializes in advancing cultural and language pedagogy in literacy instruction while dismantling deficit narratives surrounding BIPOC students in K-16 classrooms. Her work combines counterstorytelling, Indigenous pedagogy, and restorative literacies to create counterspaces that promote belonging and unity for marginalized learners.
