Yvette Langdon

Yvette Langdon is an Associate Professor in the Biology Department at Millsaps College, specializing in the relationship between structure and function across developmental biology, reproductive biology, and anatomy and physiology. She directs the Self-Designed Major program and co-coordinates the Health Pathway initiative, supporting students in navigating academic programs and health-related career opportunities.

• Ph.D. in Cellular, Molecular, and Developmental Biology from UNC Chapel Hill
• B.S. in Biology from University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC)

Her research focuses on developmental biology, reproductive biology, and anatomical education innovations. Recent work includes creating virtual kinesiology laboratory modules and investigating maternal genetic patterning in zebrafish embryos.

Scientific contributions include publications in developmental genetics and physiology education, alongside leadership of the Mississippi INBRE Grant as Principal Investigator (2015-2021). She integrates molecular mechanisms with clinical applications in her teaching of anatomy and physiology.
