Yves Van de Peer

Yves Van de Peer is a Professor and VIB Group Leader at the VIB-UGent Center for Plant Systems Biology. Since 2002, he has led the Bioinformatics and Evolutionary Genomics group, focusing on genome annotation, comparative genomics, and systems biology. He earned his PhD in 1995 from the University of Antwerp. His research emphasizes genome evolution, gene duplication, and plant biology. Notable contributions include multiomics databases (e.g., Water Lily Pond) and tools like the 'doubletrouble' Bioconductor package. He was recognized as a Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher in 2024.
