Yves Andrès is a Professor and Head of the Energy Systems and Environment Department at IMT Atlantique since 2016. He holds an HDR in Process Engineering from the University of Nantes (2002) and a Doctorate in Cellular Biology-Microbiology from the University of Strasbourg. His career began at the Ecole des Mines de Nantes (1994), where he contributed to establishing the radioactivity metrology service (SMART) and advanced radioecology research within the SUBATECH laboratory. He later led the environmental engineering axis at the CNRS UMR GEPEA laboratory, focusing on biotechnologies for pollution treatment.
Teaching roles include serving as a teaching assistant (2005–2008) and appointed Professor in 2011. He coordinates the Master of Science 'Project Management for Environmental and Energy Engineering (PM3E)' and the Erasmus+ program 'ME3' since 2014.
