Sary AWAD is a Senior Lecturer at IMT Atlantique, affiliated with the VERTE research team under GEPEA's Ecotechnologies division. His career includes roles as a Teaching and Research Assistant at Polytech' Nantes (2010–2012) and Senior Lecturer at École des Mines de Nantes (2012–2017), which merged into IMT Atlantique in 2017.
He holds a Mechanical Engineering degree (Energy Option) from Lebanese University, a specialization in Applied Thermodynamics and Propulsion from École Centrale de Nantes, and a Ph.D. in Energy and Process Engineering from École des Mines de Nantes (2011).
His research targets sustainable waste valorization through:
- Chemical processes like transesterification
- Thermochemical methods including pyrolysis and hydroliquefaction
- Development of alternative fuels for internal combustion engines
- System-wide optimization of energy efficiency and environmental performance
He contributes to the VERTE team, focusing on integrated waste-to-energy solutions within GEPEA laboratory.
