معرفی
Yuqing Huo is a **Professor** at **Baylor College of Medicine**, holding the Danny B. Jones Endowed Chair in Ophthalmology. He is also affiliated with the **Department of Medicine**, **Molecular and Cellular Biology**, and the **Cardiovascular Research Institute** at Baylor. He serves as a faculty member in the **Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences' Development, Disease Models and Therapeutics program**.
**Education**: Dr. Huo earned a **PhD from Peking University (Beijing Medical University)** in 1998 and completed postdoctoral training at the **University of Virginia**.
**Research Interests**: His work focuses on **metabolic and inflammatory pathways** in vascular diseases, including **cardiovascular diseases** (atherosclerosis, aneurysm, calcification) and **microvascular diseases** (retinopathy, stroke, Alzheimer’s-related vascular pathology). His lab employs **animal models**, omics analyses, and molecular/cellular assays to study **endothelial inflammation**, **leukocyte recruitment**, and **mesenchymal transition** in disease progression.
**Grant Activities**: Current NIH-funded projects investigate **adenosine receptor 2A’s role in subretinal fibrosis**, **myeloid glycolysis in retinal angiogenesis**, and **PFKFB3-mediated atherogenesis**. He also leads an AHA-funded study on vascular smooth muscle cell metabolism in atherosclerosis.
**Labs & Teams**: Principal investigator at the **Yuqing Huo Laboratory**, collaborating with cardiovascular and ophthalmology research groups at Baylor. His work bridges **translational research** and **therapeutic development** for vascular diseases.
