Dr. Yunlong Zhang is a Professor at the Zachry Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at Texas A&M University and holds a joint appointment with the Texas A&M Transportation Institute. With over 35 years of experience in transportation engineering, he specializes in traffic operations, transportation modeling, intelligent transportation systems, and AI applications in transportation.
- Ph.D. in Transportation Engineering from Virginia Tech (1996)
- M.S. in Highway and Traffic Engineering from Southeast University (1987)
- B.S. in Civil Engineering from Southeast University (1984)
Research Interests:
- Traffic flow modeling, simulation, and analysis
- Traffic control devices and signal systems
- Safety analysis in transportation
- Evaluation of connected and autonomous vehicle (CAV) technologies
- Artificial intelligence and advanced computing applications
