Dr. Yunjae Hwang is an Associate Professor of Deaf Education at the University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma. Previously affiliated with NSF's Science of Learning Center on Visual Language and Visual Learning, he has taught at multiple schools for the Deaf including Atlanta Area School for the Deaf and Arizona State School for the Deaf and Blind. Certified for K-12 Deaf Education in Oklahoma, he actively collaborates on international projects including Korean Sign Language curriculum development and educational policy reforms.
Research Interests: Dr. Hwang's work focuses on educational drama for literacy development, ASL/English bilingual pedagogy, and distance learning innovations. His international collaborations address Deaf education reform and cultural accessibility in global contexts.
Publications: His recent research examines linguistic analysis of Korean Sign Language, educational needs assessments for Deaf students, and culturally responsive curriculum design, demonstrating consistent focus on accessibility and language acquisition.
Professional Engagement: As outreach coordinator for the 1st World Deaf Baseball Game in Korea, he bridges academic research and community initiatives.
