Yulei Yang is a Professor at the Department of History & Research Institute for Pre-modern Chinese History at Zhejiang University. She holds a PhD in History and Historical Geography, with a focus on Sino-Korean cultural exchange during the Ming and Qing dynasties.

Key projects include analyses of Late Qing commercial maps and pre-modern East Asian cartographic methods. Her work engages with digital humanities and archival studies, particularly through collaborations with the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science (MPIWG) and its map collections.
