Yuki Mori

Dr. Yuki Mori serves as Associate Professor at the Center for Translational Neuromedicine at the University of Copenhagen and Scientific Director of the Panum Preclinical MRI Core Facility. With expertise in advanced bio-imaging techniques, particularly MRI/MRS, her work focuses on enhancing understanding of biological processes at the preclinical level.

Dr. Mori received her Ph.D. from the Graduate School of Meiji University of Integrative Medicine in Kyoto, Japan, in 2005, following an M.Sc. in Acupuncture (2002) and B.Sc. (2000) from the same institution. Her doctoral research focused on "Visualization of hippocampal metabolism using manganese-enhanced MRI in rats – detection of ischemic damage and electroacupuncture-induced metabolic change."

Her research interests center on neuroimaging, cerebrospinal fluid dynamics, and the glymphatic system. Dr. Mori has made significant contributions to understanding brain clearance mechanisms and fluid dynamics in the central nervous system. Her work bridges preclinical imaging with translational neuroscience, developing innovative imaging solutions for biological process analysis.

Dr. Mori's recent publications demonstrate strong focus on neurofluids, brain clearance pathways, and the glymphatic system. Her research reveals how sleep enhances glymphatic clearance and how aquaporin-4 inhibitors affect fluid transport in the brain. She has contributed to understanding anatomical pathways of contrast agents following administration in cerebrospinal fluid and blood.
