Yuki Asahina is Lecturer in Japanese Studies at the University of Manchester, specializing in social inequality, political sociology, and right-wing movements in Japan and South Korea. She earned her PhD in Sociology from University of Hawai'i at Mānoa and previously held positions at Harvard University's Reischauer Institute and Hankuk University of Foreign Studies.
Her research examines economic inequality, insecurity, and emerging right-wing ideologies using qualitative and comparative methodologies. Recent publications analyze media coverage of inequality, cross-national resentment patterns, and labor conditions during the pandemic.
