Yuki Arita

Yuki Arita is an Associate Professor and Japanese Language Director & Advisor in the Department of Linguistics and Asian/Middle Eastern Languages at San Diego State University's College of Arts and Letters. She holds a Ph.D. in Japanese linguistics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Her research explores human interactions using linguistic and non-linguistic resources, with current focus areas including:

• Enactment phenomena in conversations
• Native/non-native Japanese speaker dynamics
• Textbook analysis for real-world language pedagogy
