Yuk Hui is Professor of Philosophy and Chair of Human Conditions at Erasmus University Rotterdam. His scholarship examines technology through intercultural philosophical frameworks, developing concepts of cosmotechnics and technodiversity to address technological homogeneity in the digital age.
Hui's influential monographs analyze the metaphysical foundations of computation, algorithmic governance, and planetary-scale automation. Recent work explores sovereignty in machine societies, epistemological reconstructions of cybernetics, and post-European philosophical identities.
As convener of the Research Network for Philosophy and Technology and Berggruen Prize juror, Hui promotes global dialogues on technological pluralism. His books have been translated into 15 languages, including 'Art and Cosmotechnics' and 'The Question Concerning Technology in China'.
