Yujiao Li

Dr. Yujiao Li is a ZGH Scientist at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum (RUB), affiliated with the Department of Microstructure Physics and Alloy Design. She holds a PhD in Materials Science from Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (2006) and has extensive experience across academic and industrial roles, including research at the Max-Planck Institute for Eisenforschung and Georg-August-Universität Göttingen. Her research focuses on atomic-scale investigations of microstructure evolution in advanced materials, particularly in high entropy alloys, nanocrystalline steels, and interface-dominated systems. Key areas include phase stability, grain boundary segregation, and mechanical property optimization. Dr. Li has contributed to breakthroughs in understanding white etching area formation in bearings, oxidation kinetics of complex alloys, and the development of ultrastrong nanocrystalline materials. She leads projects in the ZGH Center, leveraging advanced characterization techniques like atom probe tomography and high-throughput experimentation.
